Jacques Prévert, Mouloudji, Edith Loria, Édith Scob, Liliane Patrick, Aristide Demonico, Joseph Kosma - Diner de Têtes... mp3 album
Kosma met Marcel Carné through Prévert and during the Occupation of France (World War II) he worked for him. He is probably most known for the song "Les feuilles mortes" ("Autumn Leaves"). The piece was originally meant for an opera, but Kosma and Prevért convinced Carné to turn into a film: "Les portes de la nuit" (1946). The lyrics were originally written by Prévert, the English lyrics were written by Johnny Mercer. After the war, Kosma wrote scores to numerous films, and he continued writing music for films until his death.
Joseph Kosma (22 October 1905 – 7 August 1969) was a Hungarian-French composer. Kosma was born József Kozma in Budapest, where his parents taught stenography and typing. He had a brother, Ákos. A maternal relative was the photographer László Moholy-Nagy, and another was the conductor Georg Solti. He started to play the piano at age five, and later took piano lessons. At the age of 11, he wrote his first opera, Christmas in the Trenches
