lood in the sand (freestyle). Action Bronson wrote a letter to Saddam Hussein in 1990, and it's pretty heart warming. PNB Rock Says He's One Of The Top 5 Songwriters. PNB certainly can't claim to be top 5 when it comes to modesty.
The repatriation of German PoWs didn't start until September 1946 - partly because the Italians were repatriated first. But also because the economy of bombed-out Germany was in such a mess it couldn't support an extra 400,000 returning soldiers. So they stayed on. But now things had changed. A church service was held at Christmas 1946 in Sheffield Cathedral for the PoWs. The Bishop of Berlin came and the PoW choir sang. And by the end of the year, locals were allowed by law for the first time to invite prisoners to their homes for Christmas and many close friendships were made.
AFI's tenth set continues the California quartet's maturity and stylistic evolution. The self-titled album - also known as "The Blood Album" - draws from each period of their ever-changing past, offering fans of each stage something to enjoy. At this stage in their career, it should be apparent that the sound of those early records isn't coming back.
The Blood Album' has AFI once-again embracing their status as no-F's given group of artists. Many folks here will try to tie this album, and certain tracks, back to previous albums - clutching onto and being compared to 'classic' remnants from the past releases of Black Sails, TAOD, and STS. That's the wrong approach. The 'Blood Album' ignores nostalgia, and brainless regurgitation, or playing to expectations and instead focuses on a time and place. What you get is a brilliant new AFI - with the classic AFI 'vibe', but with an evolution in songwriting, such that I've never heard from them before, with near math-rock at times ("Pink Eyes"), to blues ("The Wind That Carries Me Away"), to lush electronic euphoria ("Dark Snow"), and the list goes on.
