Combat Rock is the fifth studio album from The Clash, and the final album featuring Mick Jones and Topper Headon. The lyric sheet for this album contains many errors such as listing entire verses on several songs that are absent from the recordings on the album. This is due to the lyrics sheet being a leftover from the aborted Rat Patrol from Fort Bragg album. Know Your Rights (3:40). Should I Stay or Should I Go (3:09). Rock the Casbah (3:43). Red Angel Dragnet (3:45).

Combat Rock is the fifth studio album by the English rock band The Clash. Combat Rock is the group’s best-selling album, being certified double platinum in the United States. It contained two of The Clash’s most popular songs, the singles Rock the Casbah and Should I Stay or Should I Go. Combat Rock was the last Clash album featuring the classic lineup.

But the message of Combat Rock - the Clash’s fifth album and a snarling, enraged, yet still musically ambitious collection of twelve tight tracks on a single disc - is pop hits and press accolades be damned. This record is a declaration of real-life emergency, a provocative, demanding document of classic punk anger, reflective questioning and nerve-wracking frustration.

The Clash- Combat Rock. This is a public service announcement! With Guitars!" Joe unleashes the album straight your way with clearly the very best track an album like this could have started out with. Know Your Rights holds in place a hoppy, steady bass-line as Joe executes in his formal vocals and Mick and Topper duke it out with a great midway solo in the bridge, and a nice sturdy beat going nice and tight on the hats as the song progresses pretty slowly. Now, everything in this track isn’t perfect

The Clash’s final album to feature the classic lineup, Combat Rock is at once their most basic rock album, and the most bizarre. The Clash had to go through a lot to be able to write a riff as simple and memorable as Should I Stay or Should I Go. Rock the Casbah, on the other hand, is one of the most effortlessly complex dance songs to ever top the charts. The rest of the album is thornier. Overpowered by Funk, Car Jamming, and Sean Flynn are even more out there than the songs on Sandinista!. Inoculated City is one of Mick Jones’ most underrated pop songs, but it is Joe Strummer’s.
